In a season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 boys. Each day we featured an amazing player in our county and counted down until we got to #1. We hope you enjoyed the countdown as we honored the best of the best.
#16
Carson Lehnert, senior, Blaine
WHY HE’S #16: On a team of dangerous 3-point shooters, Lehnert was the most feared in part because of his NBA range. But this season the 6-foot-3 guard’s offensive game evolved to include mid-range jumpers and drives to the hoop. He averaged 12.1 points per game in helping the Borderites’ 2023 class finish their careers with an impressive playoff run and third-place finish at state and in the process earn himself a scholarship to Douglas College (B.C.).
COACH NATE SULLIVAN: “Carson is a ‘must locate’ shooter. He also added a great pull-up game and got all the way to the rack in big situations for us this season.”
