Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #18 Jack Stapleton

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#18

Jack Stapleton, senior, Lynden

WHY HE’S #18: Although he missed a number of games due to his painful foot injuries, the 6-foot-7 forward had an impact that went far beyond his averages of more than 8 points, 4 rebounds, and almost 2 assists a game. Chosen for the Whatcom County Seniors Classic, Stapleton was an exceptional defender usually assigned to the opponent’s top scorer, and he was an inspirational leader both on the court and on the sidelines.

COACH BRIAN ROPER: “Jack fought through injuries all season. He rarely was able to practice and yet was one of the better defensive players in the conference. As one of only two seniors on our team, he provided much needed leadership and encouragement to our players.”
