Whatcom Hoops Boys Top 30: #24 Kaden Veldman

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 boys. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#24

Kaden Veldman, sophomore, Lynden Christian

WHY HE’S #24: A key to the Lyncs’ run to the Class 2A state championship game, the 6-foot-4 forward was the inside presence the team of outside shooters needed. He battled in the paint for nearly 10 rebounds a game, but what made him invaluable was his ability to finish at the rim, averaging 11 points a game on 68 percent shooting from the field. He also had nearly 2 assists and 2 steals a game.

COACH TIM ZYLSTRA: “Without Kaden, we didn’t rebound real well. He runs the floor well and is another unselfish player who understood his role and did what it takes for the team. He’s a workhorse on the glass and  one of the best rebounders in the league.”
