Whatcom Hoops Girls Top 30: #10 Mallory Butenschoen

In an incredible season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops is ranking the top 30 girls. Each day we’ll feature an amazing player in our county and count down until we get to #1. So join us daily as we honor the best of the best.

#10

Mallory Butenschoen, senior, Ferndale

WHY SHE’S #10: The vocal leader on a Ferndale squad with seven freshmen and sophomores, Butenschoen has been a key to the Golden Eagles’ success the past three years. The physical 5-foot-7 forward played much bigger than her size, averaging almost 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists a game to earn second-team all-Northwest Conference honors.

COACH TERRI YOST: “Mallory is a fierce competitor, and the leader of our team. Her drive to win makes her play hard every game and every play. Mallory is known for taking charges on our team and every charge fires her teammates up.”
