In a season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 boys. Each day we featured an amazing player in our county and counted down until we got to #1. We hope you enjoyed the countdown as we honored the best of the best.
#12
Ashton Engelhart, senior, Squalicum
WHY HE’S #12: Engelhart was not flashy, but when the game was done his was the name at the top of the stat sheet. The 6-foot guard led the Storm in minutes played, in scoring (13.6 points a game) and in 3-pointers made (65). His all-around play, consistency, and effort didn’t go unnoticed by the coaches of the Northwest Conference, who named him to the all-NWC second team.
COACH TYLER HANNIGAN: “Ashton was someone who had to be accounted for on the offensive end of the court and who put 100 percent effort into each game.”
