In a season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 boys. Each day we featured an amazing player in our county and counted down until we got to #1. We hope you enjoyed the countdown as we honored the best of the best.
#14
Wyatt Stephan, junior, Bellingham
WHY HE’S #14: The Bayhawks’ top scorer also was one of the best all-around athletes in the conference. The 5-foot-11 guard played much taller, leading the Bayhawks not only in scoring (12.4 points a game) but also in steals (2.2 a game) and assists (3.9 a game). He was capable of creating his own shot but also playing in the system and running the break.
COACH BRAD McKAY: “Wyatt was our best offensive threat and was one of the better defenders on our team. He was voted captain by his peers and was our leading returner from last year’s team. He is a great athlete, a 4.0 student and an even better person. His best basketball is still ahead of him; he should be a handful next season in the NWC.”
