In a season filled with outstanding players, Whatcom Hoops ranked the top 30 boys. Each day we featured an amazing player in our county and counted down until we got to #1. We hope you enjoyed the countdown as we honored the best of the best.
#4
Grey Garrison, senior, Sehome
WHY HE’S #4: With the inside moves of a power forward and the touch of a shooting guard, Garrison became one of the most dominant offensive players in the Northwest Conference. The 6-foot-7 center was a threat to finish a fastbreak with a dunk or hit a deep 3-pointer, averaging 18 points per game in helping the Mariners reach the Class 2A state tournament for the second year in a row. He also averaged 8 rebounds and 2 assists a game and was an easy choice for first-team all-NWC.
COACH BRAD JACKSON: “Grey is a consistently high-level player and is one of the league’s top scorers. As one of the conference’s most versatile players, Grey scores from inside and outside. His ability to run the floor to score puts great pressure on defenses and makes the difference in games. Despite his thin frame, Grey displays excellent toughness and raises his game in the most intense situations.”
